Sharing Veterans’ Prose, Poetry, and Art More Than 80 Years

Veterans Voices Writing Project began for wounded veterans returning from World War II, encouraging them to write about their experiences and feelings to help heal. The ranks of World War II veterans have thinned, but there’s no shortage of veterans from other wars the past 80 years who need to share their thoughts and challenges. Veterans’ Voices encourages all military veterans to share their writing and artwork for possible publication in Veterans’ Voices magazine. More

Writing as Therapy

Veterans Voices Writing Project strives to enable military veterans to experience solace and satisfaction through writing and art expression that helps process thoughts, feelings, and ideas which otherwise might remain hidden, sometimes masking PTSD. "Expressing our feelings and thoughts through written and visual artistic expression allows us to get our feelings out, memorialize them through art and hold them up to examine, reflect on and use to foster healthy change."
