Your Donations are Invaluable
VVWP and Veterans’ Voices – 501(c)(3) nonprofits - are supported solely by contributions from corporations, individuals and veterans’ organizations. It takes many donations to provide support for writing aides, and the publication and mailing of the 64-page magazine three times a year.
Donations are utilized in the publication of the magazine – for printing, prizes (as established by various individuals and organizations), mailing costs, maintaining website and technology, one part-time administrative staffer and a small office in the national VFW office building in Kansas City. As publication and mailing costs rise, the board continually seeks new ways to publish and distribute veterans’ work. Volunteers are a key component to providing the therapeutic writing services, and many individuals contribute their time or services – just as they have done since 1952.
Veterans’ Voices magazine has collected more than 12,000 veterans’ stories, poems and creative art since its inception in 1952. Now, Veterans Voices Writing Project needs your help to create a digital archive for all of its published prose, poetry and art. Your subscription to Veterans’ Voices and your donations will not only help to sustain the magazine’s publication but also guarantee preservation of veteran writing and art for the future.
Your generosity in the form of subscriptions and donations will ensure that veteran writers and artists will always have a place to see their work in print and online, giving them the satisfying accomplishment of publication and the therapeutic benefit of creative expression.
